I worked pretty late last night. Implemented CCCCFakeNeutrinosMoL. Testrun is going and seems to work. All coding was done under the influence of Jim Beam Black Label (w\ Coke, of course).

Woke up early this morning. Managed to force me to sleep a bit longer. One moment I am miserable, the other I am desperate.

It's 22:45. Just got back from the gym. Computers all fired up.

It's Monday morning. 9 a.m.
The weekend was not too depressing for a young supernova theorist like me.

There's much to do. Here are some selected items from my to-do list:

• Analyze why a sizeable number of my simulations have crashed over the last two days. Resubmit some runs. working on it
• Send e-mail to a sensitive collaborator. done!
• READ PAPERS
• Get our Newtonian SN code working on the local cluster
  done!
• Do my taxes :-D

it's sunday. my head aches. my neck muscles are tense. my back hurts.

I've been been on my own - strictly speaking - for a week now. But I hadn't seen her for a couple of weeks when we finally broke up. The time with her seem so far away now.

I need "nearness" (this is a Germanism).

what does a young supernovatheorist do on a saturday night in berlin when all his cool non-astrophysics friends are out of town or busy doing boring things?

yes. that's right. he calls up one of his geek astrophysics (in the particular case, numerical relativity) friends to go out to Prenzlauer Berg and have a couple of drinks.

the thing started out on Kastanienallee in Cafe Morgenrot (which is one of those co-op run bars you find in/around berlin). there was an interlude at a private party that we somewhat gate crashed. finally we ended up at Rosis in Friedrichshain.
